Robert "Bob" Ruppel, 74, of rural Stillwater (Benton Township), died at his home Wednesday, July 13th, 2022.
Born January 11, 1948 in Toms River, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Robert and Betty (White) Ruppel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn "Lyn" (Miller) Ruppel on August 18, 2020.
Bob retired from the Red Rock Job Corps in Benton. He also owned and operated a hobby shop for many years, known as "Pot Bellies R. C. Racing and Hobbies". In his younger years, he worked as a car salesman.
He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family, his canine buddies and also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his two children: Jay Campbell and his wife, Carol, of Harrington, Delaware; Margie Hordnes and her husband, Chris, of Stillwater; two grandchildren: J. J. VanArsdall and his wife, Jackie; Kiri Hordnes; five great grandchildren and two sisters: Nancy Nunally and her husband, Barry, of Florida; Joyce Will and her husband, Steve, also of Florida and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Sally Fritz and her husband, Randy, of Stillwater.
Along with his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelley Campbell and by three sisters: Patricia, Sharon and Carol.
Funeral Services and Military Honors will be held Saturday, July 16th, 2022 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton. A Viewing will be held Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the Services at 11 AM at McMichael's. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the family.
