Robert Sarisky, 81, of Millville, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Born on June 26, 1943, Bob was raised in Mount Carmel PA before moving to Clifton NJ in the 9th grade. He later spent several years in San Jose CA, before settling in Millville in 1975.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Joanna, in 2022, as well as by his parents, Elmer and Susan (Hvizda) Sarisky, and his siblings Margaret, Lawrence, and Leonard and cherished in-laws Ted and Betty. He is survived by his children Kimberly (and husband Mark) Slear, Kara (and husband Kerry) McWilliam, and Justin (and wife Karrie) Sarisky; his sister, Rita Seamans; and five grandsons: Alek Matunis (and partner Jenny Cornell), Aidan Matunis (and partner Hannah Gizinski), Adam Matunis, Jansen Sarisky, and Landen Sarisky. He took great pride in helping to raise "his boys" and loved watching them grow into fine young men.
Together with Joanna, Bob owned and operated Unity Market in Unityville and Penn Pride Provisions for many years. He later worked as a driver for the Columbia County Agency on Aging, Meals on Wheels, and Rabbit Transit until his retirement on his 75th birthday.
He loved tending to his farm, caring for his cows and barn cats, and enjoying the beauty of nature through birdwatching and gardening. A lifelong Steelers fan, he never missed watching a game. Bob served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Alaska and North Dakota during the 1960s. He was also a member of the Millville American Legion.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 12 noon until 1:45 PM at McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road (State Route 487), Benton.
