Rodney S. "Rod" Vincent, 71, died Tuesday afternoon, June 28th, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient since Friday.
Born October 31, 1950 in Danville, he was a son of the late Robert T. Vincent, Jr., who died July 20, 1983 and Esther L.(Shannon) Vincent, who died December 27th, 2021.
Rod was a 1968 graduate of Benton High School. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army in the Vietnam War from 1970 to 1972. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Marksman M16 Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.
He had been employed as a corrections officer at SCI Retreat until his retirement in 2008.
Rod was a life member of the Benton V. F. W. He was an avid Phillies fan and he enjoyed doing landscaping and outside work around the house.
Surviving, are his son, Jason P. Vincent, of Benton; a sister, Cindy Vincent (Mark), of Harvey's Lake and a brother, Doug Vincent (Connie), of Benton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his Parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert T. Vincent, III on June 28, 2008.
Private Funeral Services will be held at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton with Pastor Caleb J. Fritz, officiating.
Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery with full Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to a Veterans organization of the donor's choice.
