Scott was a life member of the NRA and the Mountain View Hunting Club.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He especially enjoyed fishing on the Susquehanna River.  He also enjoyed tinkering and gardening.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Norma Jane, are his four children:  Holly Evans and her husband, Bob, of Berwick; Daniel Sweeney and his wife, Bonnie, of Bloomsburg; Jennie Barnhill and her husband, Brent, of Bloomsburg; Robert Sweeney and his wife, Susan, of Nescopeck; two grandchildren:  Corey Evans and Megan Sweeney; one great grandson:  Isaiah Evans; and a sister, Ruth Elaine Harvey, of Millville.
