Shelley M. (Search) Farrell

Shelley M. (Search) Farrell, 65, of Bloomsburg and formerly of Benton, died early Tuesday morning, September 10, 2024 at her home.

Born August 30, 1959 in Bloomsburg, she was the daughter of Arthur Search, Jr., of Benton and the late Judith Ann "Judy" (Wood) Search, who died December 8,  2016.  She and her husband, Kevin G. Farrell, would have celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on September 15th.

Shelley was a 1977 graduate of Benton High School. She then earned her 
R. N. Degree from the former Williamsport Hospital School of Nursing.  

She had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia for many years and after moving back to the area, at Evangelical Hospital in Lewisburg, where she retired in July 2022.

She was a parishioner at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Berwick.

Her hobbies included star-gazing, gardening, hiking, and traveling.  She especially enjoyed her time reading at the beach. 

Surviving, in addition to her father, Arthur, and her husband, Kevin, are her two sons:  Ryan J. Farrell and Colin A.  Farrell;  a brother, Perry A. Search,  as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 12 Noon at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 721 Monroe Street, Berwick, with Father William Barbee, her Pastor, as Celebrant.  A Viewing will be held Friday from 5 to 7 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487).  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD  27141.
