Shirley V. (Temple) Wodrig, 82, formerly of Maple Grove (Stillwater), died Thursday, May 5th, 2022 at the Bloomsburg Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she had been a resident since 2014.
Born June10, 1939 in Turbotville, Northumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Jesse Calvin and Lois (Garrard) Temple. She and her husband, Charles S. Wodrig, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on August 17th.
Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Hughesville High School. She assisted her husband with the operation of Wodrig's Nursery for many years.
In her younger years, she was involved with the Benton Welcome Wagon, was a Girl Scout Leader and a 4-H Leader.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, Charles, are her four children: JoAnn Robbins and her husband, Randy, of Bloomsburg; Charles "Chuck" Wodrig and his wife, Tamera, of Delaware; Diane Donkochik and her husband, Randy, of Georgia; Shirley Ann Young and her husband, Patrick, of Millville; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn son and was the last member of her immediate family. Along with her parents, was preceded in death by her sisters: Edna Shanbach, Della James, Eleanor Megargel and Mary Helen Keeler.
Graveside services will be held Monday, May 9th, 2022 at 2 PM at the Benton Cemetery with Pastor Scott Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
