Stanley W. Lovett, Sr., 71, of Benton Township, died early Friday morning, December 11th, 2020 at his home.
Born July 6, 1949 in Abington, Montgomery County, he was a son of the late William and Violet (Burton) Lovett. He and his wife, May (Wiese) Lovett, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on October 10th.
He attended various colleges and graduated from Beaver College in Glenside, PA with a B. S. degree.
Stan proudly and faithfully served his country in the U. S. Air Force for 40 years, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He served during the Vietnam War, Operation Iraqi Freedom and Desert Storm. He also served in the Reserves and the National Guards.
He was a member of the Stillwater Christian Church.
His hobbies included rock climbing, skiing, flying, and scuba diving.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, May, are his four children: Stanley Lovett, Jr. and his wife, Catherine, of Benton; Matthew Lovett and his wife, Jennifer, of Benton; Megan Saxton and her husband, Jack, of Stillwater; Scott Lovett and his wife, Crystal, of Mountaintop; fourteen grandchildren: Stanley Lovett, III and his wife, Caitlin; Benjamin Lovett; Adam Saxton; Luke Lovett; Micah Lovett; Abigail Hummel and her husband, Kodey; Alyssa Saxton; Julia Lovett; Mackenna Lovett; Lauren Lovett; Emma Lovett; Madeline Lovett; Breanna Lovett; and Talia Lovett; five great grandchildren: Lucy, Oliver, Cooper, Elias and Axl. Stan is also survived by a brother, Paul Lovett.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Eric Lovett on July 8, 2016 and by his sister-in-law, Bonnie Lovett.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 18th, 2020 at 1 P. M. at the Stillwater Christian Church with Pastor Scott L. Lyons, officiating. (Due to the pandemic the Funeral Service will be live-streamed on the Stillwater Christian Church Facebook page and YouTube channel.) Burial will be in the Benton Cemetery with full military honors. A Viewing will be held Friday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1 PM at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P. O.
