Stephen A. "Steve" Williams, 80, of Benton, died Monday, September 19, 2022 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born September 21, 1941 in Bellefonte, Centre County, he was a son of the late Casmer "Pete" and Hazel (Fultz) Williams. He and his wife, Maria A. (Massic) Williams, would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on March 3rd.
Steve attended the Waller United Methodist Church. He was an avid golfer and was a member of numerous golf leagues over the years. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed fishing, playing softball, shooting, camping, hiking and riding his motorcycle. He was especially interested in genealogy and worked diligently on his family tree. Steve was also an accomplished woodworker and had made various pieces of furniture for the family.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Maria, are his four children: Scott Williams, of East Tawas, Michigan; Rachel DiPiano and her husband, Chris, of Gilbertsville; Stephenie Williams and her companion, Shawn Pallay, of Pottstown; Jesse Williams, of Spring City; eight grandchildren: Samantha, Candice, Elizabeth, Justin, Shawn, Kenzie, Mikalah and Austin; two great grandchildren; a sister, Sandra Williams, of State College and a brother, Mike Williams, of Bellefonte. Also surviving are three step children from a previous marriage: Jack Scampone, of Muncy; Melissa Older, of Schwenksville; and Jacob Scampone, of South Williamsport.
Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held Wednesday, September 28th, 2022 at 2 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487). Private burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Walker Township, Centre County. Friends and Relatives will be received Wednesday from 1 PM until the time of the Service at 2 PM at McMichael's. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
