Timothy Danilowicz Obituary

Timothy Mark Danilowicz, "Tim", of Beaver Township, with his dog Luna by his side, put his hammer in his tool belt for the last time, at home on December 13, 2022, after courageously battling cancer for a year.

A son of Stanley A. Danilowicz and Betty Jean (Keller) Danilowicz, he was born 6.24.58 at the Bloomsburg Hospital.

Tim was a member of the Stillwater Christian Church and attended Benton Schools where he played basketball and continued his education with some of the best carpenters in Benton who taught him a trade that would be his life.

Self employed as a contractor, he left his mark throughout the area on numerous buildings, houses and schools, designing and installing the "B" in the new showers of the Benton Elementary gym when it was built.

His beautiful woodwork, including a tiny house and furniture, can be seen at the Pump House B&B in Mainville, where he worked alongside his good friend and recent caretaker, Doug Hopkins, for over 20 years.

Tim loved the outdoors and finally found his dream 25 years ago on top of the mountains in Mainville where he built his own home and workshop out of chestnut beams, he salvaged from a 200-year-old barn, where he lived and nurtured the land and the animals.  He was proud of his garden every summer; just as his Dad was.  Watching the critters feed outside the front door was he and the love of his life, Jan's, favorite pastime.  He and Jan studied and practiced her Native American spirituality, attending as many Pow-Wows as they could each summer.

Tim also loved music and held a couple festivals on his property starting with the Mystical Forest Festival in 2006. Music festivals were his summer vacation each year always trying to catch M. O. E., his favorite jam band.

Tim always liked a good party so check out John Prine's "When I Get To Heaven" to see what he's doing now.

Working on his Toyota Land Cruiser and 4-wheeling through the woods made him happy each evening after work.

Tim always helped maintain the family home in Benton and faithfully took care of his Mother, checking on her every day, since his Father's passing 22 years ago.  He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and 3 grandchildren doing Easter egg hunts, campfires, hiking in his woods, finding turkey feathers, and out to the old railroad bed.

He was preceded in death by Jan Burt in 2022; his father, Stanley, in 2000; and Ruby Burt, his partner's mother, who he made sure always had mountain water to drink.

Tim will be greatly missed by his mother Betty and brother, Bill, of Benton; Shiane, his daughter, and grandchildren:  Jaylen, Layne and Tegan, of Stonington; Shane Burt, of Bloomsburg; son, Mick, of Minnesota and his two children, and all his many friends and relatives.

At Tim's request, there will be no services at this time.  A Celebration of Tim's life will be announced next summer.  Cards and calls will be appreciated due to the virus situation.  Thanks to Geisinger Hospice for his care.  To quote Tim, "those of us who can, must party for those who can't!".

Also, a thank you to Bobby Frey, for keeping Tim plowed out each and every winter.  The family also extends a sincere thank you to McMichael Funeral Home, Inc. and Staff for their excellent service.
