Walter F. Koepisch, Jr., 90, of Stillwater, (Fishing Creek Township), died Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Gardens at Orangeville. He had previously lived on St. Gabriels Road in Benton and prior to that in Belle Meade, New Jersey.
Born December 23, 1934 in Sumit, Union County, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Walter Koepisch, Sr. and Frances (Grupp) Koepisch. He and his wife, Rose A. (Cleary) Koepisch, would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on May 5th.
Walter was self employed as a horseshoer while living in Belle Meade, New Jersey. He also owned and operated Dutchtown Forge where he manufactured aluminum horse shoes. He had been inducted into the Horseshoeing Hall of Fame in 2007.
He proudly and faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War.
Walter was a member of the Mainville Gun Club as well as various gun clubs in New Jersey. He was also a member of numerous clubs and organizations in New Jersey including the New Jersey Quarter Horses Association; the New Jersey Horseshoer's Association; the Delaware Valley Horseman's Association and the Somerset County Horse and Pony Club.
He was also a musician, playing the guitar with various groups in the area.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Rose, are a daughter, Cynthia R. "Cindy" Koepisch and her companion, William "Bill" Wisniewski and a grandson, Kyle Koepisch, all of Stillwater.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Sullivan.
