William Joseph Kelly, Sr., 89, of Bloomsburg, died Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023 at his home.
Born December 16, 1933 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Charles Kelly and Jennie Amandeo.
Mr. Kelly was a graduate of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia. He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Kelly worked as a truck driver in Philadelphia for various companies until his retirement.
He was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a member of St. Nicholas of Tolentine Catholic Church in Philadelphia.
Mr. Kelly lived a wonderful life, he never met a stranger, and he would do anything for anyone without hesitation. You may have seen him and Nan walking all over the streets of Philadelphia, before moving to Texas to be with his granddaughter, Dana and Grandson-in-law, Ken and their three children. Dana was the absolute joy of their life, and she treated them as her parents. He enjoyed the last 15 years of his life in Texas living life to its fullest, spending time with family, traveling and being with the love of his life. He was also known as "Pops" to many friends over the years.
Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie (Francks) Kelly; granddaughter, Dana M. McKinney and her husband, Ken, of Belton, Texas; his surviving children: Rosemarie Kelly, of Bloomsburg; William Kelly Jr.; Catherine Kelly; Anna Marie Fleming and her husband, Charles; Robert Joseph Kelly, and David Joseph Kelly, all of Philadelphia. Also surviving are 17 additional grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was the last member of his immediate family.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Geraldine Kelly in February 1972.
