William J. "Bill" Mitchell, Sr.

William J. "Bill" Mitchell, Sr., 87, of Greenwood Township, died Monday, July 5th, 2021 at his home.

Born June 19, 1934 in Long Branch, Monmouth County, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Harry L. and Marjorie (Casler) Mitchell.  He and his wife, Rose Edeltraud (Bauer) Mitchell, would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on October 1st.

Mr. Mitchell was a graduate of Monmouth College, now known as Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey.  He was employed as an instrument lab technician for a chemical company and later for Ocean County Utilities in New Jersey.

He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army.

Mr. Mitchell enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Sullivan County. 

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his two children:  William J. Mitchell, Jr. and his wife, Diane;  Audra Mitchell; and three grandchildren:  Justin Hartman, William J. Mitchell, III; Jonathan Mitchell.

Private graveside services will be held at Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
