William W. "Woody" Ertwine, 75, of Benton Township, died Thursday, April 2, 2026 at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born July 27, 1950 in Berwick, he was a son of the late Warren A. Ertwine, Sr., who died in 2000 and Izora Viola (Hosler) Ertwine, who died in 2008.
Woody was a graduate of Benton High School in 1968. He was a Benton Township Supervisor for 42 years and in his younger years was employed by the Berwick AC&F as a welder for 15 years.
He loved welding but especially cherished the time that he spent with his family and grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
Surviving, are his wife, Alice (Volanski) Ertwine, whom he married in 1968; a son, Chris Ertwine and his wife, Stacey, of Benton; his granddaughters: Kalie, Kelsey and Carissa Ertwine; his siblings: David C. Ertwine, of Harrisburg; Darlene K. Moss, of Benton; Cynthia E. Howey and her husband, Peter, of Stroudsburg as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Also surviving are his sisters-in-law: Kay Gerstlauer and her husband, John; Fran Seward and her husband, Tom; Rhonda Boiwka and her husband, Donnie.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Warren A. Ertwine, Jr. and by a sister, Donna L. Stiger.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11 AM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (State Route 487) with Pastor Scott Lyons, Stillwater Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery. A Viewing will be held Monday, April 6th, from 5 to 7 PM at McMichael's. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Stillwater Christian Church, 39 McMichael Street, Stillwater, PA 17878.
