Albert Francis Schumacher, 60, of Starke, Florida, and formerly of the Benton area, died Thursday evening, January 28th, 2016 at Hospice Care Center in Florida.
Born October 25, 1955 in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was a son of Joan Elaine (Wolfe) Schumacher Meyer, of Benton and the late John Schumacher. He and his wife, Deborah (Swigart) Schumacher, would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on March 24th.
Albert had worked at the Benton Foundry for 16 years prior to moving to Florida. While living in Florida he was employed by CDR. Years ago he had worked for Superior Welding and the Old Heidelberg Bar and Restaurant in New Jersey.
He was a founder of the Raccoon Club in Central in 2000.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are his children: Kim Mercado; Albert Schumacher and his wife, Theresa; Donna Hagan and her husband, Glen; Stephanie Wilkinson and her husband, Caleb; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters: Henry Schumacher; Charles Schumacher and his wife, Cindy; Joan Vashey and her husband, Ronald; Kevin Schumacher and his wife, Debbie; Michael Schumacher; Jody Boyle and her husband, Andrew; Catherine Lewis and her husband, John.
Preceding him in death was his father, John Schumacher; his stepfather, William Meyer and a brother, John H. Schumacher.
A Visitation will be held Sunday, February 28th, from 1 to 2 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (Rt. 487).
