Sheldon W. McHenry, 89, formerly of Town Hill, died Sunday afternoon, January 14, 2018 at the Bonham Nursing Center.
Born July 19, 1928 in Town Hill, he was a son of the late Robert McHenry and Daisy McHenry Sangrey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosalee J. "Rose" (Rodrick) McHenry, on January 31, 2001.
Mr. McHenry attended Huntington Mills Schools and had been employed by Six L's, retiring in 1994.
He faithfully served his country in the U. S. Army during World War II and was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
His hobbies included tinkering and country music. In his younger days, he played guitar in different bands.
Surviving, are his son, Gary W. McHenry, and his wife, Linda, of Shickshinny; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two sisters: Evelyn Coombs, a guest at Bonham Nursing Center and Lois Moss, of Town Hill.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelley; a great granddaughter, two brothers: Richard and Donald; and by a sister, Dorothy.
Services will be held Thursday, January 25, 2018 at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487) with Pastor C. Glenn Neely, of Reyburn Bible Church, officiating. There will be a Visitation Thursday, the 25th of January from 10 AM until the time of the Service at 11:00 at McMichael's. Burial will be in the Scott Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
