Kathleen Agnes (Sutliff) McMains, 98, died February 25, 2017 in Utica, New York.  She was born September 25, 1918 in Erie, PA to Harold and Grace Sutliff.  Kathleen's younger brother, Kermit, predeceased her.

She grew up in Benton and was a graduate of Benton High School.  She also graduated from Columbia's Presbyterian Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, School of Nursing in New York City where she earned her RN degree.  Kathleen was employed for over forty years as a Corporate Nurse with Coty Cosmetics Corporation, Uniroyal Corporation and the Colgate Palmolive Company, in their Corporate offices in New York City.

Her first marriage was to Benjamin J. Gault, PhD.  They had three children:  Linda Kathleen Gault, now living in Jacksonville, FL; Benjamin Gault, Jr. who resides with his wife, Ruth Carl Gault in Sebring, FL and G. Gary Gault, predeceased, whose wife Barbara Carl Gault lives in Spring Grove, PA.  Kathleen has five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

While working in New York City, she met and married her second husband, Charles Van McMains, Jr.  They spent more than fifty years living in Stuyvesant Town, in lower Manhattan, New York City.  They enjoyed the lifestyle and entertainment that New York City offered.  They both spent their final years at the Masonic Care Community, in Utica, NY.  Kathleen is survived by her two children, and two stepchildren:  Pamela Denny of Montclair, NJ and Laurie Singleton, of Naples, FL as well as six step grandchildren and several step great grandchildren.
