Wayne M. Fausey

Wayne M. Fausey, 85, of rural Orangeville, (Greenwood Township) died late Thursday evening, July 21st, 2016 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been admitted earlier in the evening. He had been a resident of Brookdale in Bloomsburg for the past several years.

Born October 13, 1930 in Warwick Township, Chester County, he was a son of the late Fred and Elsie (Hartman) Fausey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy L. (Pifer) Fausey, of 53 years, on May 9th, 2007.

Mr. Fausey was a 1948 graduate of Benton High School and then faithfully served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a longtime employee of TRW / Textron in Danville until his retirement in 1990.

He was an active member of Derrs Christian Church where he served as an Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and was a member of the Church Board. He was also a member and Past Master of Oriental Lodge, No. 460, F. & A. M., of Orangeville and the Caldwell Consistory of Bloomsburg.

Mr. Fausey enjoyed farming and attending the agricultural seminars conducted by Penn State University.

Surviving are his five children: James E. Fausey and his wife, Sandy, Palmyra; twin daughters: Joyce F. Betron of Danville; Janice E. Bartholomew and her husband, Steven, of Orangeville; Christi A. Schilling her husband, James, of Charlotte, NC and Timothy J. Fausey and his wife, Tylee, of Orangeville; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Carrol Fausey of Orangeville; a sister, Ethel Horne, of Bloomsburg and a step sister, Ruth McHenry, of Berwick.

Along with his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Evan Kreider; his step mother, Esther (Young) Fausey and by a son-in-law, Richard Betron.

Funeral Services and Masonic Services will be held Tuesday, July 26th, 2016 at 2 PM at the McMichael Funeral Home, Inc., 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (S. R. 487). A Viewing will be held Tuesday from 1 PM until the time of the Service at McMichael's in Benton. Burial will be in the Rohrsburg Cemetery with military honors accorded by a local group of Veterans. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Derrs Christian Church, 466 Derrs Road, Benton, PA 17814.
